Are you ready to join us on a journey into the Zagreb's past? Every corner of the Upper Town tells the story from the city's rich historical background. As its name suggests, this stylish apartment is situated opposite the Croatian Parliament, an institution which stems from the 13th century. It is housed in a beautiful Baroque townhouse from the 18th century, the home to many members of the Croatian aristocracy in the past. The apartment has been completely renovated and nicely decorated, bringing to life the atmosphere of the past times combined with modern touches such as the light scheme, modern kitchen etc. The Old Town, with a backdrop of beautiful architecture and courtyards, museums adn galleries provides a perfect place to stay and explore Zagreb. You will experience the city's romantic past by strolling down its historical streets illuminated by gas lamps, taking one of the world's shortest furnicular rides, or enjoying the romantic dinner in one of the stylish Upper Town taverns!
The apartment Parliament is situated on Opaticka street (Nuns' street), just behind the Croatian Parliament building and the Church of St Mark, only steps away from the medieval Stone gate. In the 17th and 18th cent, there was a convent of St Clare order further up the street. Hence the name of the street. The nuns had run a school within the complex of the convent and were tutoring the daughters of the noble families - they taught them music, knitting, sewing and good manners. Today, the complex is housing the Zagreb City Museum with rich exhibits dating from the city's earliest history until present. Naive Art Museum and the Museum of Broken Relationships are only around the corner, while Zagreb's liveliest farmer's market Dolac is only a 5 min stroll from here. The market is open every day and offers a fresh range of fruit, vegetables, meats and fish. The minute you step out of the apartment, you will be surrounded by Zagreb's major historical sites (Church of St Mark, the Parliament, Church of St Catherine, medieval Stone Gate, Lotrscak Tower with a cannon firing at noon etc.). Downtown area and Zagreb's Main square are just down the street. And don't forget - our Prime Minister is one of your first neighbours - his office is just across the street!
The apartment consists of a spacious living room with high ceilings (wireless connection in the whole apartment), a dining area for four, 2 bedrooms with double beds, fully equiped kitchen (stove, oven, fridge/freezer, coffee machine, kettle, toaster), with 2 modern bar stools; bathroom (shower, washing machine and toilet).
